Californails #NailArtMar Day 17: Rainbow Luck

Happy St. Paddy's Day! I wish you all the luck of the Irish! I'm doing a simple chevron rainbow for you to follow to find your pot of gold :)

Get the look:
1. Paint your nails a soft lime green like Maybelline Outloud Lime nail polish (two coats) and allow to dry fully.
2. Using a set of acrylic paints and a long tip liner brush, draw a diagonal line with the red paint from about halfway or three quarters up the nail bed to the next end of the nail.
3. Using the orange draw a similar stripe but just under the red.
4. Repeat for each color; yellow, green, blue, indigo (I skipped this one) and violet. Try pastel shade for a softer look.
5. Now repeat the entire process this time starting from the opposite end so that the line crosses at the middle forming the chevron shape.
6. Once all the colors are completed, seal in with a top coat.

To make your design more festive, add some shamrocks!

Happy One Year Blogoversary!

One year already? OMG! Time really flies when you're having fun . I really enjoyed my one year with you. I've made new friends, improved on my nail and makeup techniques, tried new trends and products, discovered I love nail art (can you tell) and the list goes on. But most importantly I want to thank you all for your support and kind words that kept me going. Honestly there were some times when I was down since I didn't feel my articles and pictures were great but you stuck in with me and for that I say thank you. But I also would like to say thank you and to celebrate this achievement by my first ever giveaway! A Rafflecopter Giveaway

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic
