NYFW Peter Som Fall 2014 Inspired Nail Art: Graphic Orange

I love taking inspiration from fashion to incorporate into my nail art. Last time I was also inspired by Peter Som and for this new season I am again in love with an orange design of his. This look is more interpretive and graphic from my regular designs.

I am totally in love with this dress by Peter Som for his Fall 2014 collection and I am equally in awe of this bright, bold orange nail polish color from the L.A Girl Color Pop collection called Crackle. Two coats is enough to give you an opaque color. Here is the pure color taken with flash lighting.

Nail Tutorial:
1. Paint your nails two coats of L.A Girl color pop in crackle.
2. Using a fine striper brush and black acrylic paint, add on your black details. Use your picture as a guide.
3. Add grey for a color block look.
4. Using white and grey paint, wipe off most of the paint from your brush and then swipe along the nail bed in small areas to replicate the brushed on look.
5. Seal in with a top coat.

Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
