New Year 2014 Nail Art

Happy New Years my beloved bees! I'm so glad you have joined me for the start of the new year with more wonderful nail art, beauty reviews and makeup looks to share with you. Here the simple yet stunning nail design that was with me when the clock struck midnight into 2014!

I started off this look with 2 coats of L.A Girl cosmetics Color Pop nail polish in Lovely. This is a rich creme lilac based pink shade which is opaque with the 2 coats.

I first used black acrylic paint to write the words on each nail. The writing is slanted so it fits on the nail bed but leaves room at the tips for the glitter. Also using the acrylic paints, draw a curved line from one side of the nail starting from about half way up the nail and then moving down to create a slanted french tip shape.

Using L.A Girl Glitter Addict nail polish in Provocative apply to a sponge allowing for a few minutes for the clear base to sink in and then sponge onto the tips in the blank space you just created with the black. This polish has fuchsia hexagon and glitter pieces. Repeat until you get the intense glitter look at the tips.
Using a toothpick or dotting tool, pick out the larger hexagon pieces and apply along the black line created earlier.
Complete the manicure with a thick coat of Seche Vite.

So here's to you having a wonderful and yet another new year with me. I have lots more wonderful nail designs, tutorials and techniques to share with you. Grazie!

Happy New Year 2014!

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
