Californails January Nail Art Challenge 2014: Swirly Sweets

Oh I have a bad sweet tooth. I eat everything from chocolates and candy to cakes and cookies. The best part about it is that they don't add a lot of weight to the waistline (just yet). For today's nail art design I am taking inspiration from candy and those awesome swirls found in peppermints and other hard sweets as well as those huge lollipops.

For this design I used an assortment of bright colors for the bases:
Maybelline Navy Narcissist (blue), Orly La Vida Loca (pink), China Glaze Igniting love (red). The swirls themselves were handpainted on using white acrylic paint and my #3 striper brush from BornPrettyStore.

Stay tuned for the 8th design in this challenge: Studs

I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
