Busy Girl Nails Fall 2013 Challenge: Week 1- Golden Streaks

Oh how I love a good nail challenge with good friends and new ones too! Today's design takes the theme for week 1 of the Busy Girl Nails fall 2013 nail art challenge: Antique Gold.

Tutorial:
1. Start off with your base coat and then apply 3 coats of  L.A girl metal nail polish in Gold Plated.

2. Using a variety of fall colours like orange (Orly Flicker),  oxblood red (Orly Smolder), plum (Orly Ingenue) and antique gold (L.A girl metal Antique Gold) add stripes of each of these colours to the center of the nail bed.
3. Allow the colors to overlap in some places and blend into each other at some points.
4. Add a touch of glitter using folk art extreme glitter acrylic paint in gold.
5. Seal in with a fast drying top coat (Seche Vite! My favorite)

Join in on this fall nail challenge by posting your nail designs on instagram or on your blog using the hashtag #BusyGirlNails and tagging the girls hosting this challenge: @drinkcitra, @BeautyByArielle, @fiercemakeupandnails, @mirandasmakeup and @marijonails :)

Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
