T&T Hair and Beauty Tradeshow 2013

Who doesn't love a tradeshow? This is my second year at the T&T Hair and Beauty Tradeshow at the Capital Plaza. It was once again a 3 day event (May 4-6th) and unlike last year when I popped in on the Saturday, I attended on the Sunday instead. Oh boy was it ever so busy with the room filled with patrons that it was just a bit difficult to properly scan each booth. Nevertheless I did get a chance to capture some wonderful moments that I would love to share with you. Let's begin :)

Let's start with the HAIR! Wow this show had a large focus on hair products staying true to the name of the show. At the time I was attending I was lucky enough to see some of the contestants in the hair competition. The designs were detailed and really showcased the talents of the hairstylists. I was in love with these pin curls :)

Now onto the hair products! While there were many booths and products to choose from; these were some of my favorites since these are new to our local market. Let's meet Keratherapy! First time in Trinidad!!!

The Keratherapy experts were on hand to give wonderful demonstrations on their products which unfortunately I missed :(but be sure to check out their facebook page and hair and beauty show in trinidad album for more exciting pictures).
What I loved about Keratherapy is their amazing technology of combining keratin, silk amino and fruit acids to give your hair shine, strength and smoothness.
And for your local folks, be sure to check out authorised distributor: Fifth Avenue Express Salon and Beauty Supplies to get your hands and hair on Keratherapy :)

Moroccan and argan oils seems to also be in focus this year. Meet the new Suave Moroccan Infusion distributed by Unilever. This line is infused with the authentic Moroccan oil that gives you instant shine and softness. The gorgeous Unilever ladies at this booth were kind enough to share some samples on the spot and I did notice the immediate change to my slightly dry coloured ends.

The Tresemme' booth was beautifully displayed and on the spot demonstrations assisted patrons with styling tips and tricks. Some of my favorite Tresemme products are from the naturals line.

And since I'm a nail art fanatic, I could spot this booth a mile away with the interesting nail strips and stencils.

Lash extensions anyone? Meet MyLash Canada; at the show it was possible to get a full set of lash extensions for $TT300. And they carry a range of makeup as well.

Did I save the best for last? You decide! Seeing Palladio makeup up close and personal was indeed exciting to me. This brand has all natural herbal makeup infused with ingredients such as aloe vera, ginseng, gingko biloba and green tea! Some of their popular product includes their rice powder; known for its oil absorbing properties, great for setting makeup and silky finish. This brand is being distributed in T&T by PRD Holdings Ltd.

What an exciting day with wonderful new discoveries on products available to the average consumer. I can't wait to see what else is in store for me next year. See you next year!

 XOXO

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
