Nail Challenge Day 8: Flakie Idol

Oh how I love flakies! Chunks of gold embedded in a clear base. It has the power to transform just a regular coloured polish into something special.

Here's the base colour used, L.A.Girl Color Addict polish in Idol. It's a greyish blue with subtle golden shimmer.

So flakies polishes like this one I used, China Glaze Luxe and Lush from the Hunger Games Collection, two coats of it should be enough to create enough golden chunky sparkle. It's so much prettier in reality, the camera seems to not be able to perfectly capture the sparkles.

Stay tuned for more nail challenge inspired nail art and don't forget to check out my challenge buddies.

Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
