NYFW: Pop of Sunshine (Victoria by Victoria Beckham Inspired)

So you're a gothic chic? No problem, but how about you add an unexpected pop of colour to change it up a bit! My latest fashion inspired post comes from the gorgeous Victoria Beckham and her Victoria for Victoria Beckham designs for fashion week 2013.

Fashion Source

Victoria Beckham is a fashionista. Her style for this design shows clean lines but with that burst of colour in the middle that is sure to draw the eye in. The piece to me is modern and easy to wear with simple accessories to let that yellow middle be the focus. Now if you can't seem to get your hands on this outfit, how about you try my simple tutorial to wear her art on your nails instead.

Get the look:
1. Apply a base coat to protect your natural nails from staining
2. Apply one coat of an opaque black polish. I used Nabi nail lacquer in Black. Allow to dry fully.
3. Using tape, create an open middle triangle leaving enough space at the tip to create a French tip in black.
4. Apply a yellow polish to the open triangle. Repeat application to get an opaque yellow triangle. I used China Glaze Sunshine Pop (from the Electropop collection 2012)
5. Remove the tape immediately. Clean up any yellow transfer onto the black with a black stripper polish. You want crisp clean lines.
6. Apply a top coat to seal in your design!

Popping Sunshine!

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic
