NYFW: Graffiti Nails (Inspired by CND/ Creatures of the Wind)

Hello beautiful! I'm continuing on with the latest nail trends and fashion inspired nail art from New York Fashion Week 2013. I was really amazing by this simple yet stunning and artistic nail art design developed by CND for the Creatures of the Wind fall 2013 collection.

This CND designed manicure was inspired by urban art from the 80's. It's like graffiti nails. It's really simple to do for yourself. Here's how I created mine.

Get the look:
1. Start off with a base coat and a neutral base colour like NYX Cosmetics The Taupe. I used two coats for an opaque finish.
2. Choose complimentary colours for your graffiti. You want pops of colour. For precise lines, use either stripper brushes or nail art pens to create zig zag lines to the nail. Stick to the left side of the nail bed.
The lines should be in different colours and should overlap for more depth of the design. I used Sally Hansen nail art pen in Blue and Black, L.A.Colors Art Deco in Sapphire and Red.
3. Allow to dry properly and then seal in your design with a top coat!

Hope you enjoyed!
Happy Graffiti!

Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
