NYFW: Blue Bursts (Inspired by Carolina Herrera design)

Hola! I'm continuing on with my New York Fashion Week Inspired nail art designs and this one was inspired by a long flowing gown from Carolina Herrera. Just looking at this photo I could see the movement in the gown and could picture it dancing on the runway. I admired the bright blue bursts of colour that just popped on the white fabric.

Get the look:
1. Apply your base coat and two coats of an opaque white like China Glaze White on White.
2. Using a very fine tip of a dotting tool or toothpick, apply a row of dot coming straight down the center of each nail. This would represent the buttons on the dress. Use a bright blue colour such as L.A.Girl Blueberry Fizz
3. Next apply bigger dots of blue onto the nail bed in random areas. Before the dots dry take a toothpick and lightly stroke the colour outwards creating spikes around the circles.
4. Apply a top coat to seal in your design!

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed, stay tuned for more fashion week inspired designs.

XOXO

Happy One Year Blogoversary!

One year already? OMG! Time really flies when you're having fun . I really enjoyed my one year with you. I've made new friends, improved on my nail and makeup techniques, tried new trends and products, discovered I love nail art (can you tell) and the list goes on. But most importantly I want to thank you all for your support and kind words that kept me going. Honestly there were some times when I was down since I didn't feel my articles and pictures were great but you stuck in with me and for that I say thank you. But I also would like to say thank you and to celebrate this achievement by my first ever giveaway! A Rafflecopter Giveaway

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic
