Fashion Fever with Peplum

Hello beautiful! This new year brings with it new territories for me! I'm entering into the land of fashion and I have got fashion fever baby. Why fashion? I always had a love for fashion. I've been known to my friends as the girl who loves shoes. It started with this love for shoes, then moved to handbags, then accessories and now onto the actual wear. For too long I have stayed into my comfort zone and now it's time to change that. Introducing one of the latest fashion styles, the peplum.

So what is the peplum? From my pictures you can see it is like an overskirt. It attaches onto the main part of the dress. It draws the eyes into the waist and hips and creates an hourglass shape for my petite frame. In this look the piece is simple but can be dressed up or down to be used from day to night. Throw a jacket onto it, add some black stockings, pair with some simple jewelry and you can even venture into the office.

This piece is versatile since it is black but the cream midsection breaks the monotony of the colour and looks like a belt adding to the accentuation of the waist. I am particularly fond also of the asymmetrical frill which brings some more flare to the look.

I paired the look with silver accessories; drop earrings that would peak out from beneath my hair, a long chain to bring some life to the simple vest like top of the dress and a simple handclasp.
I kept my nails simply natural to not distract from the beauty of the dress but feel free to add a pop of colour to liven up the look.

The classic smoky black and brown eyes with the rest of the face being neutral is the perfect pair for this simple black peplum. It complements the dress without overtaking the focus. To Russia with Love from a MAC Russian Red Lipglass

Bold red lips at the touch of a lipglass! I remember when I was afraid to wear red lips. I thought it was just so bold and my timid personality preferred to stick with soft pink lips. Well those thoughts have faded with age and now I can face my fears with the beautiful MAC Russian Red lipglass.
