China Glaze Get Carried Away

You just saw Surreal Appeal, a gorgeous coral colour. Now picture that topped off with another whimsical topper polish called Get Carried Away. It's a sheer black jelly base with silver and black glitter, silver and copper hexagon pieces as well as black bar glitter pieces.

While I loved this polish in the bottle, it got thick and made the application quite difficult at times. To get full opacity you need to go to about four coats of the polish. That is why I consider this a topper polish instead of a plain old regular one. I can't see myself reaching for this polish often :( but maybe my nieces would love to :)

  2. Get Carried Away is the only one in that collection that I didn't like. It is murky looking.

    1. Oh yeah but I did love this entire collection nevertheless. The purple one as well gave me some application issues.

Maybelline Color Tattoo and Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows! Plus More!!!

I can go for weeks, maybe a month without buying new makeup. I have that discipline but all that goes to south (I’m a north girl) when new products come out to play and particularly when I was literally stalking the stores to see if there was a sighting of the new Maybelline color tattoos. Come back next month. Ask me again in two weeks time. These were the comments I kept getting but finally there are here and what better way to celebrate their arrival by going nuts and buying their showcase neighbours as well, the Loreal infallible eye-shadows. I love Pennywise!

Easy Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Hello Bakers! I've been quite the busy bee lately baking up a storm in my baking classes. Today's post is a simple pineapple upside down cake. Enjoy!

Hot Milk Sponge Cake with Fresh Fruit & Coconut

In today's yummy post we are doing an easy sponge cake (no creaming of butter and sugar involved). Instead of torting this cake we are using two loaf pans to give us our two layers, which we will pull together with vanilla buttercream. I love the rectangular look of this cake rather than the traditional round or square but more importantly the flavors of the toasted coconut on the sides and fresh fruit on top makes for a mouth watering dessert.
