The Holiday Gloss-Over

Before I became a lipstick lover, I was a huge lipgloss fan. If you are a bit intimidated by lipstick, opt for a lipgloss instead and work your way up to lipstick. In fact there are so many highly pigmented glosses now that they give the opacity of lipsticks with high shine of the glosses. Here are some of my favourite lipglosses perfect for the holiday season!

The Reds: MAC Russian Red Lipglass <3

Get the luscious classic colour with this lipglass or the permanent MAC Russian Red Lipstick. Tap on the colour of the lipstick and run a clear lipglass over the top to replicate this gorgeous red, if you can't get your hands on this lipglass. It's a cherry red that leans a bit orange red on my skintone. It's a bit tacky as MAC lipglasses are but the high shine makes this red one of my favourite red glosses.

NYX Perfect Red Lipgloss

They don't call it Perfect Red for nothing. If you can't get your hands on the MAC Russian red lipglass or looking for a cheaper alternative then this NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss is the answer. Its a bit more of a blue red than Russian Red but also is highly pigmented with high shine.

CaraMia Caliente

I love supporting locally made products! This is the most inexpensive out of the three red lipglosses. CaraMia Cosmetics Caliente Lipgloss is a gorgeous red similar to NYX Perfect Red. It does have a ting of pink in its colour. Here I paired it with CaraMia Royal Red lipliner. The only setback is that it stains your lip a magenta pink color. Otherwise it is glossy, pigmented and not super sticky. <3

The Pinks: Flori Roberts Magenta Lipshine

I discovered this brand recently at the Caribbean Nail and Beauty Show and I am smitten with this lipshine. It's a shimmery lipgloss but without feeling the grit of the particles on your lips. The colour is close to its name and it doesn't feel super sticky for a gloss. The only drawback for me is that it settles into my lip lines. Otherwise this is one of my favourite pink glosses lately.

CaraMia Shimmer Lipgloss

This colour is more muted a pink but with the shimmer goodness I love for the holidays. Again like the previous pink you don't feel the particles on your lips. A bonus for me with this gloss is that it smells like caramel!

The Golds: Makeup Academy (MUA) Shade#1

Golds are popular for the holidays. Try the sheer gold sparkle of the MUA Shade 1 lipgloss for a natural but festive look. My lips are a bit pigmented on its own so the gloss gives a glow to its natural colour. If your want a more natural look or you're not a big fan of wearing red glosses, then this is the one for you. It also smells super yummy.

CaraMia Gold Lipgloss

Amp up the gold volume with a true gold lipgloss like CaraMia gold. It's a bit sheer on the lips but gives enough gold colour for your holiday party. Wear matching gold eyes if you dare.

And that completes my gloss over of all the gorgeous red, pink and gold lipglosses that are truly favourites of mine and wonderful for this holiday season.

Happy Holidays!!

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
