New Discoveries at The Caribbean Nail and Beauty Tradeshow 2012

I love making new discoveries especially when it comes to makeup and nail art! That was exactly what I encountered this year at The Caribbean Nail and Beauty Trade Show 2012. Let's start off with the nail supplies :)

As soon as you entered the space there was a crowded room with more traders than I remember seeing last year and of course super happy ladies buzzing around each and every booth. The first set of booths were nail supplies so I couldn't be happier. There were tons of acrylic products, gel polishes and uv dryers, and nail art supplies galore. You named it, you probably could find it.

The Nail Inn was extremely popular. I could barely squeeze myself in to see all the lovely nail supplies. My favourite were the feathers for the nails.
Now onto some regulars at the show. I've meet them here last year as well and I always look out for them. The T&T Salon Supplies also has a host of nail supplies. I love their prices on their China Glaze products

Now for the makeup fans, also making a reappearance at the show was Tres Belle Cosmetique. I always get a warm welcome from their staff and their booth this year was definitely eye catching. I'm a huge fan of the DaVinci Cosmetics shimmer shadows.

Now for the newcomers (at least to me :) brands. Let me first introduce you to the mineral cosmetics line of Bella Terra. It is made in the USA and distributed locally by Ansura Wholesalers. From what I saw in the demonstrations you get a flawless coverage with their mineral foundations. I was so impressed I got my mom to test out her shade for me. I'll let you know how she feels about it after a few weeks of wear but so far so good.

Ansura Wholesalers also distributes CHI, Farouk and BioSilk products!

Another newbie to me was Flori Roberts Cosmetics distributed by Loubon Marketing and Distribution. It's another line made in the USA. I thought the lipgloss packaging was indeed interesting.

I really enjoyed my second year at the CNBTS. My old favourites and new discoveries made it worthwhile.

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
