Nail Challenge Day 5: Blue Sky Nails

It's been so hot lately, like scorching hot where a good fan, cold coca cola and skimpy clothing does not seem to help at all. The one good thing about it is that the sky is so beautiful and blue! Meet my Sky Blue nails.

This colour isn't quite as vibrant as how the sky looks today. In case you're wondering, it's Sinful Colours Swedish Blue using three coats since it's a bit on the sheer side. Here's how it looks on its own.

For today's challenge and let's blame it on the heat for making me lazy but I was willing to just do your plain blue nails but them my 9 year old niece looks at me and remarks that these are just too plain! So just because I'm striving towards being the best aunt in the world, I added some clouds and black birds to complete the design! Ahh, these kids!

I promise to be more productive with the next challenge.
Stay tuned for Day Six: Purple Nails and be sure to stop by Jayne's blog Cosmetic Proof and Traci's blog DrinkCitra to see what gorgeous designs they also created for this challenge!
Happy Blue Nails!

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
