Nail Challenge Day 1: Red T&T Flag Nails

And were off! Day One of the Nail Challenge begins with red nails and how appropriate for me at this time since Trinidad and Tobago celebrated its 50th Independence Day just yesterday! My version of red nails is symbolic of the colours and pattern of the national flag.

It's really simple to achieve too! I used my favourite red polish, China Glaze Ruby Pumps. I can't tell you how many times I've used this colour before. It's really the best red I've found to date.

You just need two coats of this red. Allow to dry properly and then bring out your dotting tool. Apply two rows of white dots that sandwiches a row of black dots. This is the symbolism of the national flag but with a twist in that it is not in straight lines but semicircles.

I loved these so much I even entered them into a local nail art competition being put on by Wonderful World which is where I get most of my polishes anyway!

Stay tuned for Day two: Orange Nails and be sure to stop by Jayne's blog Cosmetic Proof and Traci's blog DrinkCitra to see what gorgeous designs they also created for this challenge!

Happy Red Nails!
XOXO

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
