Plain Old Polish- Maybelline Express Finish in Outloud Lime

Retina burning green! Yes the name of this colour really says exactly how this colour appears in real life. It’s really beautiful and not a usual colour I would have in my stash. Remember I’m a pink and blue polish girl! It reminds me of Kermit the frog though. What do you think?

Oh did I mention this was my first Maybelline polish? Yes I’m still in my branching out phase. Do you think this one will bowl over my love for China Glaze? Let’s find out together shall we!

So despite its absolutely beautiful colour that is perfect for a summer time manicure, the application of this polish left much to be desire. The first coat was streaky. Ok no problem yet, usually a second coat does the trick, but no, not in this case. It took me three coats with the last one being much thicker than the first two thin coats to even out the application for a smooth colour. So ok, that wasn’t totally bad, but it gets worst. The bubbles appeared! Tiny little bubbles all over my gorgeous colour!

Can you see the bubbles?
Gorgeous colour, but tiny bubbles!
Really bubbles? Oh that really annoyed me! Even with the top coat on I could see them. I was too disappointed to even test the wear and of course I had to go to work soon so this colour had to come off.

So I’m really on the fence with this polish leaning towards falling over. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t try Maybelline polishes again. Maybe it was just this polish that had issues. Despite its flaws the colour is too beautiful to ignore.
Happy Liming!
XOXO

  2. What a beautiful color! Sucks about the bubbles, though. I own the black one and it never bubbled on me.

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
