Plain Old Polish- L’Oreal Paris in Mauvie Star

Hey remember I said I wanted to try out new brands this year? Well L’Oreal isn’t a new brand for me in terms of their makeup but this Mauvie Star is the first L’Oreal nail polish in my stash. This first experience was a surprisingly good one. Overall I loved it. Of course it doesn’t bowl over my love for China Glaze but it impressed me enough to wear this colour for more than just one day.

Interestingly enough I can’t find another colour in my stash that looks even close to this colour. I have true pinks and true purples but Mauvie star is pink and purple wrapped up in one.

What I loved about this polish wasn’t just the colour but the formula was smooth, no bubbles in sight and just one coat gave a good opacity and two coats as shown in these pictures was enough to show the true beauty of the colour. I was really impressed with this line of L’Oreal polishes. I go minor chipping after one week of wear which is fine for this nail polish addict.

Have you tried any L’Oreal polishes? Do you find them amazing like I did? Tell me your favourite L’Oreal shade! I’m dying to try some more!
Happy Mauvies!
XOXO

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
