Patriotic Olympics Nails

Hello Beautiful! I've caught the Olympics fever and being a patriotic person I thought it would be appropriate to do some matching nails to show my support for my local team.

So first I painted my nails all white with China Glaze White on White nail polish with the exception of the pinky finger that was painted red with China Glaze Go Crazy Red.

The red nail serves are a base for the national flag of Trinidad and Tobago! Our flag is pretty easy to replicate; red base, black thick center strip starting from the top left hand corner with two white smaller strips on both sides of the black.
The thumb finger shows the Olympic rings with the year. This was done using acrylic paint and a toothpick.

My favourite nail!
OK so the remaining nails are just right for the three medals that everyone is striving for. For that perfect circle, you want to apply your polish onto clear tape; the non sticky side and wait for them to dry properly. Using a circle hole punch carefully punch through the polish and tape. Depending on your polish the both circles of polish and tape separate on their own. I used for the gold; Makeup Cherimoya Pebble beach Crystal sand nail lacquer in Emerald (Step 1). For the silver I used Milani PC girl and for the bronze I used Orly Chocolate Martini. For the purple tags for the medals, I mixed blue and red acrylic paints.

Are you doing any Olympics nail art? Oh I would love to see! Are you the patriotic type or will you jump ship? And for all you trini diehards or even if you're not, feel free to support our Olympics team by tweeting the hashtag #I4TANDT; 100,000 mentions by September 24th = $200,000 for our Olympians and Paralympians!

Happy Olympics!
XOXO

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
