Triple Trendy Nails

Besides trying new trends, I love combining different trends into one look. After not being impressed with the Sinful Colours Fusion Neon polish application, I decided to use this neon pink into my next design. After all, I had the painstakingly long task of doing 4 coats of this pink to get it right.
So why not use the neon (trend one) as the base and incorporate metallic nails (trend two) into a colour block design (trend three). Hence the name triple trendy nails.

Would you like to try some trendy nails too? Yes?
·         Ok so first you want to start with your pink neon base polish. Make sure you use a base coat before since you may get some staining.
·         Next use some tape; preferably clear or matte tape so you can see through exactly where you are placing you tape. Remove part of the stickiness from the tape before applying onto the nail in a diagonal line. If your nails are not flat but more curve then ensure you have a tight seal of the tape onto the base polish.
·         Apply a small piece of tape again from the middle of the first tape line to the other nail edge.
·         Apply your coat of the colour block polish; I used Sparitual Dreams Becoming Reality (medium blue crème). Basically you want a contrasting colour to your pink.
·         Remove the smaller piece of tape immediately after applying the blue polish. This will ensure a cleaner line.
·         Next apply the silver metallic polish; I used Milani PC girl to complete the bottom triangle. Remove the large piece of tape immediately.
·         Ensure properly dry and then apply your top coat. Done!
Quick tip: Try to use polishes that are opaque in one coat.

What nail trend have you been up to lately? Hope you enjoyed.
Happy Trending!

Coffee Date Night with Bae

There are some simple pleasures in life that I enjoy. Coffee is one of them and a good lipgloss. Today I can have both of them together while we go for a date with bae! Sacha Cosmetics has blown me away with their new intense lipshine glosses and awesome names. I love when companies try to just be real with their customers even in these small details.

Let’s Go to Work with MAC Melba Blush

My work place is pretty open to makeup but I would definitely prefer to keep a simple office type look while there and maybe on casual Fridays for work and on the weekends have a separate look. What I realized when scanning though my makeup stash was that most of my blushes were way too loud for the office so what better excuse to use to hop down to my favourite MAC store. :)
Now just to mention it, don’t try attempting to get quick service on a Friday or Saturday at the MAC store. It’s usually super busy. The MAC makeup artists are always so helpful though but you may require a bit of patience. But patience I had that day which led me to my beloved Melba blush.  I just needed the colour to suit my NC 45 skintone, be a powder blush for simple application and be matte, not shimmery. We did try out Fleur Power first, which is a soft pinky coral colour but I still felt it was a tad too bright. Melba however was a soft, coral peach colour and look really great on me when she applied with h…

Hot Milk Sponge Cake with Fresh Fruit & Coconut

In today's yummy post we are doing an easy sponge cake (no creaming of butter and sugar involved). Instead of torting this cake we are using two loaf pans to give us our two layers, which we will pull together with vanilla buttercream. I love the rectangular look of this cake rather than the traditional round or square but more importantly the flavors of the toasted coconut on the sides and fresh fruit on top makes for a mouth watering dessert.
