So did you like my tribal nails? Or maybe you preferred my pink pastel ones? Well if not give me another chance with my flower fields nails. Inspired by my nieces again! At only 8 years old, Abi is very creative and she constantly wants to do more designs with me on the weekend. We bond over these things. Did I mention she loves pink? A girl after my own heart! She insisted my next nail design had to have pink and since I have been into plants lately, well here’s what we did.
It’s a very simple design and if you want to try it, stay tuned!
Step 1: Use a sheer blue colour as your base coat. This represents the soft sky. I used Sinful Colors Swedish Blue. You can also use a more opaque sky blue.
Step 2: Use a dark green stripper polish to paint in your grassy fields. Simple freehand strokes will do find. No need to be perfect but alternate the strips in direction and height for a more natural grassy field.
Step 3: Using a nail dotter and an opaque pink polish like OPI’s Pink Friday, make dots to random ends of the grass.
Step 4: Using the dotting tool make 4 or 5 dots around the initial dot to form your flowers. You don’t have to make many flowers. Leave some as just one dot to represent buds. Add a sheer white in the middle of your flowers just for some definition. Add your favourite top coat (Seche Vite for me) and we’re all done!
Happy Flower Fields!
