Feel the Summer Breeze, a NYX Matte Lipstick

It’s always summer or sunny I should say living in the Caribbean! When I make a trip to the beach I prefer to go there with the car windows down so you can feel the cool sea breeze as you are nearing the beach. But back at the concrete jungle you can simple have that in the form of a NYX Matte lipstick called Summer Breeze.
So how can we describe this colour? I think we can call it pepto pink or Barbie pink. It would fit greatly into those descriptions. The lipstick itself is like most matte ones where it is not moisturizing on the lips so you need to wear a touch of lip balm underneath. However, it has great pigmentation and decent staying power.
Now does anybody have MAC’s Pink Noveau? NYX Summer Breeze looks pretty close right? And if it is, well then it was be a pretty inexpensive alternative to that!
Happy Summer Breeze!
XOXO
Naomi

  1. I bought this shade not very long ago, and pepto pink describes it perfectly. I love the NYX matte lipsticks. I think they are every bit as good as more expensive brands.

    2. I have quite a few of them actually. I have Audrey, Angel, Tea Rose and Summer Breeze. I posted swatches of Audrey and Angel here http://exquisitewitheczema.blogspot.com/2012/03/nyx-matte-lipsticksaudrey-and-angel.html.
I do plan on getting more at some point, I just need to figure out which ones.

    1. Thanks Nivedita! What skintone are you? I guess if you pat the colour on the lips lightly it might work for you. That's what i do sometimes when i find the colour too bright for me

Hot Milk Sponge Cake with Fresh Fruit & Coconut

In today's yummy post we are doing an easy sponge cake (no creaming of butter and sugar involved). Instead of torting this cake we are using two loaf pans to give us our two layers, which we will pull together with vanilla buttercream. I love the rectangular look of this cake rather than the traditional round or square but more importantly the flavors of the toasted coconut on the sides and fresh fruit on top makes for a mouth watering dessert.
