In case you are going for the first time, you have a small entrance fee of $20TT for adults and $10TT for children. There is a secured parking area that you pay $6TT per hour or $40TT per day. For us to see everything took us about 2 hours.
Let’s start off with my favourite part of this zoo; the birds. They are so exotic and colourful. I can see them inspiring some future nail art and makeup looks. My favourite birds here are our national bird, the scarlet ibis with its rich red feathers. You know I’m not afraid to wear red. It’s such a pity the MAC Iris Apfel collection didn’t arrive here in Trinidad. I was really hoping to get the Scarlet Ibis lipstick. L And let’s talk about the flamingos shall we. The pink feathers were striking. I love the enclosure that they were in; it looked like they were right at home. ![]() |
Scarlet Macaws- So colourful! |
My next favourite part of this zoo was the otter enclosure. I have always loved seeing the otter show off himself and he gave me a hard time trying to capture him on camera. This part of the zoo is renovated such that you can see him from above or looking through the water. So pretty!
What always fascinated the kids are the big, bad, scary snakes at the reptile house. Lots of them here and if you are lucky enough you may have a guide who lets certain ones out. Would you care to touch one? Not me!
And you must go see the fishes. I just love the beautiful colours and the calming effect of them gently swimming around.

Overall I had a great time with my two kiddies and seeing a place like this through the eyes of a child makes the experience even more wonderful than how I remembered the place when I was last here. Do visit some time and let me know what you loved!
Happy Zoo Day!
XOXO
Naomi
