Montagne Jeunesse Pore Strips Experiment

How many times have I bought a product thinking it would do exactly what it was meant to do and it failed miserably? The answer to that question I don’t even know myself. It has been a lot though. We are not very fortunate here to be able to return an item if we don’t like it. So this is where reviews come in and in my case where my experiments help me decide on future orders for new products. So introducing the Montagne Jeunesse pore strips that are supposed to remove blackheads and unclog deep pores.

Purpose of experiment: To determine if the Montagne Jeuness pore strips can remove blackheads and unclog deep pores.
Tools required: My nose and one pore strip
On top: Outside of strip, On bottom: Side of strip that adheres to the nose
Nose before pore strips, with whiteheads! yuck
Method: Basically I tried it just as they instructed! Only one mistake I applied the strip upside down!
It’s upside down! Oopsie

Results: Even with my mistake, the strips worked well for me. I didn’t have blackheads but I have always been plagued with the whiteheads. Usually I just scrub them away until my nose turns red but this seems to be a better alternative for me. You can visibly see the white heads on the black strip. Now not all of the whiteheads came away onto the strip, a few remain lodged in my nose but many more were loosened and so a good washing of the face afterwards removed them for good. My nose felt very smooth to the touch! On the downside, I hated enduring the 20 minutes waiting period since the strip has an awful smell to it and strangely the strip held on so tight that I remained for a few minutes with wrinkles around the nose after the strip was removed.

Recommendations: Give it a try! My smooth nose says so.

Happy Makeup Experimenting!

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
