Pretty Playgirl: Antique Gold, Blue Satin, Jade & Purple Neon Loose Eye-Shadows

Playgirl Cosmetics is the sister brand to CaraMia and are both made in Trinidad. Somebody say “Go Local!” This was another line of products in which I couldn’t find a single swatch for or review on so I had to bit the bullet and make the plunge into these products myself.
They currently have 22 colours but these are the 4 colours that caught my eye. I’ll be on the hunt until I get them all.
They come in a small plastic gold pot with a clear lid so it’s really easy to see the colour inside. If you’re a MAC fan, the Playgirl containers are about the same size (diameter and height) as the MAC eye-shadow pots. The lids are screw top ones though and there is a clear protective plastic on top of the loose eye-shadow. These containers come full to the brim with eye-shadow so this clear plastic comes in handy to prevent spillovers.
Antique Gold: Rich gold colour with sparkle.
Blue Satin: Dark blue shimmer with purple duochrome
Jade: Green with sparkle.
Purple Neon: Soft lilac sparkle.

I tested these for wear. I used Purple Neon for the inner half of the lid and Blue Satin for the other half of the lid blending the two colours in the middle. Awesome combination btw! Using just a touch of NYX eye-shadow base I got a very long wear. Actually I wore these colours for 12 hours and I got very little creasing, creasing didn’t occur until about 8 hours after application. But you do get some eye-shadow sparkle fallout.
Overall these loose eye-shadows are extremely pigmented and for that alone I would considered them a success. They are also soft and smooth in texture. Easy to apply but if you are like me I get loose eye-shadows all over the place. I definitely would have preferred them in the compact form. I have a hard time picking a favourite out of this bunch, it’s a close tie between Blue Satin and Jade.
So what do you think about Playgirl eye-shadows?
Happy Shopping!

    1. Imagine they have 18 more colours! I'm heading to Pennywise to see what other colours I can get.

  3. Chants, I got the Antique gold first and loved it so much that I began raving about it to my friends. You know these girlies apparently had this all along and loved it too! Why didnt they tell me sooner!

  4. I lost mine but it was seriously one of the best gold e/s I ever had. It blew mac goldmine out of the water for me. I always forget to get a new one at pennywise. its one of those forgotten treasures for everyone i guess.

Maybelline Color Tattoo and Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows! Plus More!!!

I can go for weeks, maybe a month without buying new makeup. I have that discipline but all that goes to south (I’m a north girl) when new products come out to play and particularly when I was literally stalking the stores to see if there was a sighting of the new Maybelline color tattoos. Come back next month. Ask me again in two weeks time. These were the comments I kept getting but finally there are here and what better way to celebrate their arrival by going nuts and buying their showcase neighbours as well, the Loreal infallible eye-shadows. I love Pennywise!
