Metallic Madness with MAC Metal X Collection

Hello world! Just a quick post to inform you that the MAC Metal X collection of cream eye-shadows is now available at our local MAC counters. Seriously I am not trying to keep up with each collection since they are so many at the same time but I was looking for a birthday gift for my mom and stumbled across these beauties. Don’t you just have to go to the MAC store when you go to the mall?
The collection consists of 9 colours. The sizes of these are bigger than the normal eye-shadow pots. Since they are cream eye-shadows they are recommended for wear with a primer unlike the paint pots that can be worn on their own.
Just before you rush out to buy them, there have been mixed reviews on these since some folks are experiencing creasing with these. The good scientist in me thought I would check it out for myself. Hopefully I have good success with these. They are $165TT a pop after all.
I did a bit of swatching in the store with the olive green shade called Vintage Coin. (Hmmm Vintage Grape Blush Ombre, now Vintage Coin cream eyeshadow, what’s up with the word Vintage keep repeating itself?) I got myself Venetian Tarnish which is a golden bronze. Super metallic and pretty! Will let you know how my little experiment goes! Wish me luck!
Happy Metal X Shopping
XOXO
Naomi

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic
