Entering 2012 with Orly’s Stone Cold from the Mineral FX Collection

Happy New Year 2012! Here’s to you hoping you have a great new year filled with lots of happiness and love!
So I was on the search for Blue Year’s Eve from China Glaze’s holiday collection but alas it was nowhere to be found. Somehow I ended up with this gorgeous cobalt blue from Orly’s Mineral FX collection called Stone Cold and I am indeed impressed. It’s absolutely stunning. The rich blue colour has these shimmery particles in it but it’s not like the regular glitter particles. It appears softer like the blue shimmer is almost merged with the actual blue colour. I loved it so much that I actual wore the colour on both my hands and feet and let’s not talk about how many stares and compliments I am getting. Everyone I meet seem to love this colour too!
I use three coats of polish sealed with one coat of Seche Vite for good measure, but two coats would work just fine for a nice opaque colour.
Even though it is incredibly beautiful it was more expensive than the average 18ml bottle of Orly from other collections. At Wonderful World Stone Cold cost $TT46 while Prism Gloss Gold from the Bling in the New Year collection cost $TT38. Since I wear a lot of jeans I do see this colour getting a lot of use for my toes. I’m going to work that extra cost.
Let’s see how many Orly polishes from other collections I will amass this year.
Happy Shopping for this New Year 2012!
XOXO
Naomi

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic
