Daphne Guinness for MAC Collection- Vintage Grape Love

What did you guys do this weekend? Honestly I didn’t go to West Mall on Saturday with the intention of buying any makeup but I did notice that my mascara was running a bit dry. But what did I find instead? The first MAC collection for this year here in Trinidad, the Daphne Guinness for MAC collection. This was released on Boxing Day last year for the North Americas.

So they had the False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara which is what I came to check out but of course I wanted to see what else the collection consisted of. I am in a blush phase lately so these caught me eyes firstly. There are two Blush Ombres in this collection, a light pink colour called Azalea Blossom and a soft purple/ pink one called Vintage Grape. I wanted to try out Azalea Blosson since I am just drawn to anything pink but I let the MAC makeup artist make her suggestions on what she thought would look better on my skin tone and she surprisingly went for the Vintage Grape. (FYI- In MAC terms I am a NC 45 or medium dark skin tone). Purple on my face! I was a bit horrified actually but there was no harm in testing it out on my cheeks.

Boy was I wrong! This is absolutely beautiful for my skin tone! And from now on I will definitely be trying new shades of makeup. This blush wore about 6 hours for me before it started to fade. Unfortunately I actually stuck to my agenda and just got the mascara instead. When I was at the check out the same makeup artist who applied the blush for me was like “You know you want it” Ha Ha, so true!

So this is my newest makeup baby who so far looks awesome in terms of its packaging and brush head. Did you think I should have chosen the blush ombre instead? Well when I test out the mascara it better be good otherwise I would feel bad in leaving Vintage Grape in the store. Anywho, be sure to check out the Daphne Guinness for MAC Collection now available at Trinidad MAC stores and let me know what you got!
Happy MAC shopping!
XOXO

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
