With Flowers in her Hair

It’s all the rage now. I see big, bright and colourful flowers showing up as hair accessories in Trinidad. It all started with my trip to the Indian Style Expo around Divali time where I got a cute head band with a flower as a side piece for TT$5. What a deal!

Then on entering Pennywise there were a wide array of the big flowers sitting pretty in their showcases. I couldn’t resist getting one, so I got two instead; a big pink rose and white flower with lace petals. At TT$8.95 for one this was also as steal. What I love about them is that they are so versatile. At the back there are 3 items; a pin so you can attach it to your clothes for use as a brooch, a clamp/ clip so you can grab some hair and attach it to your hairstyle and the normal elastic band so you can tie it onto the hair.
Then hopping over to Wonderful World there was also an entire wall dedicated to these delicate hair creatures. Looking at them from this angle gives me a total Caribbean feeling. But it’s not just about flowers, it about feathers too and most of these pieces have both feathers and flowers.
Now this might not be your style. It’s not really mine but it’s good to try something new. These are a few ideas on how they might look on you.
My niece is my beautiful model here! It looks great with her thick long hair but I don’t see why it shouldn’t be equally as great with short hair. Would you wear flowers in your hair?
XOXO

Revlon Sculpting Blush Palette in Pink

I have never been so disappointed in a Revlon product before… until now! Maybe I chose the wrong colour for my skin-tone but there are so many other things about this palette that makes me think I should have bought some more lip butters instead. Let’s start with what I do love about the palette. It’s simple black compact that has the same sleek look as the other Revlon photo-ready items. I find a highlighter, contour shade and blush in one palette is a great idea too. Having more blush colour in terms of quantity with smaller sections for the highlighter and contour makes perfect sense since I will use more of the blush anyway. The colours as they appear in the pan look perfectly coordinated to work with each other. You get a small brush with soft bristles in your kit to ensure you can just pop this in your bag and you’re off.  In the sunlight Now here is where it all goes downhill like Jack and Jill with their pail of water. Let’s start with the swatches which made me think twic

Marble Hearts: BCD Nail Art Challenge (Day 13)

Today's challenge utilizes the technique of dry water marbling to create your pattern. I'm doing a twist of it but doing a needle drag i.e using a needle or any fine point for just a smidgen of swirl to the colours used.
