Trinidad & Tobago Flag Nails

In spite of the current situation with this limited state of emergency in our beloved country of Trinidad & Tobago, let’s not forget that we will be celebrating another year of independence on August 31 st . My good friends would know I was actually born in Guyana but moved here when I was very young since my mom is Trinidadian. This country has allowed me great opportunities I don’t believe I would have had if I had stayed in Guyana in the 1980’s. Of course, Guyana is improving and I plan to visit them soon but for now this is my home. I am a Trini to the bone! So our T&T flag is simple compared to other country flags but absolutely gorgeous in its simplicity. Here is a quick picture tutorial to achieve these T&T flag nails. Flaunt being a true patriot to our twin islands. These are all the products I used: 1.         Base Coat: L.A Girl Hydrating Base Coat 2.        Red: China Glaze in Go Crazy Red 3.        Black: Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black 4.       White: N.Y.C

Barbados National Flag inspiration using MAC Hug Me

I was super excited since I was going to my long awaited vacation to Barbados. The national flag is mainly blue and yellow colours so while going through my closet I was reminded of a sleeveless dress I bought a long time ago that was mustard with a blue-ish appliqué to the front. In my eagerness to start using my recently purchased MAC , this is the look I came up with. Since the dress is already so bright I just kept the face neutral. There is a hint of gold eyeshadow on the lids but the star of the face is the nude MAC Hug Me lipstick. MAC Hug Me Lipstick Besides being a gorgeous colour on its own, the texture of the lipstick is smooth and the shine is already there so no need to add a lipgloss on top of it, unless you want too. The only downside to this lippie is that you have to swipe a few times to get that colour but it does makes my lips feel like they are being pampered. I am really loving Hug Me! So would you wear these colours together? XOXO Your China Doll in T’

I’m an Elfette

I kept hearing about ELF cosmetics so I googled them and went straight to their website to look around. I was instantly hooked as if they designed their website to mesmerize the viewer and make them spontaneously buy buy buy. I even signed up and started receiving emails from them on any new promotions! So with items priced at US$1 and $3 I decided to give them a try. At least if they didn’t work well for me it wouldn’t have cost me much. First ELF Order 2nd ELF Order So within a blink of an eye I spent US$25. At least with that purchase I got free shipping! But I couldn’t stop myself and by the next week I did it again! Another US $25 gone from my savings! This is slowly becoming a problem. Let’s blame it on the lethal combination of the ELF people having a fabulous website and me having a credit card and US address skybox. But for my Trinidadian dolls ELF product are available through the ELF Trinidad facebook contacts. Check them out and who knows if you wil

My 1st MAC Splurge!

On August 4 th , 2011 I went down to West Mall but more importantly to the MAC Store. My trip was solely made to go to this store!!! On entering the store, everything looks so organized and the room looks huge since there are so many mirrors. What I love about the store is that there are testers for everything so you can go ahead and swatch whatever you like. Of course if you are a newbie to makeup the lovely MAC dolls would guide you into making the right decisions.  I was greeted by Sherry-Ann. We firstly started making some lipstick choices. I wanted a simple pink colour with not much if not no shimmer and she immediately went to the colour “ Sweetie”. Being a typical doll I had of course to fill up my hand with swatches before deciding on this colour anyway. Next colour choice to be made was a more nude or neutral shade for everyday wear, work or play. I ended up with “Hug me”  I am really loving the names of these colours! (BTW, both of these lipsticks are lustre ones).   So
